False Birds

9″ x 6″ acrylic on paper. Hand-signed and dated.

A nod to my time in Costa Rica, where this unusual flower is a common visitor. It’s named so because of its similarities with the OG Bird of Paradise flower. I love it’s zig-zag pattern and bold hues which really pop surrounded by a green environment. Red/green and orange/blue are complementary hues, which means they really bring out the best in each other.
