Somewhere In The Middle

9″ x 12″ watercolour on sheet music paper. Hand-signed and dated.

I keep painting and drawing these patterns everywhere. They started as a small doodle, and then I noticed how much I enjoyed the process of making these completely random and impulsive markings that somehow come together to form something that looks like an ancient lost language. Somebody call Spielberg, I’m ready for my sci-fi adventure.

A part of the Chopin Music series.
Part of living creatively is to use what you have. Your art should never be inhibited because you ran out of paper. Which is what happened to me when the inspiration hit, and all I had was a collection of sheet music. Chopin happens to be my favourite composer, and I felt like this was the perfect way to incorporate my musical side into my work.
