Peacock

9″ x 12″ ink on paper. Hand-signed and dated.

I find a lot of inspiration and magic in stained glass windows, and I appreciate their imperfect nature. Shards of colour in all kinds of shapes and sized, pieced together and bonded to form a beautiful image illuminated by the sun. It’s a muse I’d like to bring into more of my art, and this is one of those early piece. Inspired by the gemstone colours of a peacock’s feathers, this drawing is the original piece that became part of my short-lived print club. I may never make prints of this piece again, so it’s pretty much a collector’s item.
