Early 2000s

9″ x 12″ ink on paper. Hand-signed and dated.

In my youth, I was profoundly inspired by my older cousin’s bedroom decor which was an exciting display of orange, pink, and neon green. I’d spend hours flipping through IKEA catalogues planning my dream bedroom that always seemed out of reach – until my cousin redecorated and gave me her funky circle rugs, oddly-shaped paper lamps, vibrantly patterned bed sheets, and a psychedelic tile mirror. A dream come true for 12 year old Heidi.

Funny enough, this pattern was inspired by my current duvet, which is a shockingly neutral beige, but at least it has a fun pattern on it.
